Best Free Wi-Fi Hot Spots: Ganache Café
Posted on 19. May, 2009 in Essentials
For all of you Hobokenites that live uptown and need to escape your home to tackle that crazy workload, you benefit with having Ganache Cafe on your side of town. Unfortunately, I don’t live uptown, but that doesn’t stop me from visiting this awesome hot spot once in a while to relax and focus on the to-do list. I like to think of Ganache Cafe as a second home with a cozy working environment and a super-friendly staff to satisfy your need for delicious coffee to keep you awake and an awesome menu of brain food to keep you thinking. If you’re usually guilty of having the work munchies, there’s no doubt that this cafe has you taken care of!

HOBOKEN GUY’S BREAKDOWN

Wireless Network Name: ganache
Ganache has excellent wi-fi signal with very fast speeds. At times, I’d be so focused on my work and forget that I wasn’t at home surfing the internet. To resolve the past issue of Hudson Tea residents stealing their free wireless internet access, they change their password everyday. This also helps to avoid too many users on the network and thus keeps the connection fast. Very smart.
Ganache has 3 power outlets to feed power to 6 laptops, but they are all located by the couch area. All the other sitting areas have no outlets to charge and I was hoping they had one by the windows, since I enjoy natural light. But overall, how could I complain with a place that has 6 plugs next to a bunch of of big fat comfy couches.

With all the other Hoboken cafes I’ve experienced thus far, I wasn’t expecting a large amount of room. In the front of the cafe, they have a very nice island table with stools right next to the window. I have to warn you though, sitting in the front of the cafe will expose you to the most tempting aroma of delicious food and coffee beverages, which isn’t always a bad thing!

Towards the back of the cafe, they have a nice setup of tables and a little nook of comfortable couches to lounge in. Need check off laundry or dry-cleaning off of your to-do list? No worries. Willow Hudson Cleaners has their business right inside Ganache Cafe! To me, it literally almost felt like home, so I consider this place one of my favorites. The owners are super-friendly too!

Stuff your face with their irresistible soups, salads, sandwiches or sweets with a nice hot cup of Barrie House or Illy coffee, and your tastebuds will be in heaven. Since Ganache has been taken under new ownership, they’ve been improving every single detail of their establishment, from upgrades to their interior design and outstanding customer service.

They’ve also added some awesome additions to their menu of deserts including the popular Ciao Bella Gellato! Yum! Watch out for more updates in the next upcoming months, as they plan on hiring a new pastry chef.
THE HOBOKEN GUY SIDEKICKS

I’d like to thank Ganache owners and sisters Sanan and Stephanie for their awesome customer service. Every time I walk into Ganache Cafe, I get a warm welcome and a smile. And for that reason, you deserve to be Hoboken Guy Sidekicks!
