Hoboken is pretty limited when it comes to shopping for those perfect shoes. Most of the Hoboken women I’ve talked to shop outside of the mile square, whether that’s crossing the river and raiding the large selection of stores on 5th ave and downtown SOHO or taking the light rail to the nearby Newport Mall in Jersey City. But when you’ve got no time to shop for those matching shoes that you need for that party outfit tonight, you have no choice but to run to a few of those local women’s shoe shops around town. And if you’re looking for a shop that offers a variety of styles that are comfortable, well-made, fashionable and reliable, you have to check out Platform Soul.

Great Variety of European Designer Brands

According to their owner and managers, Platform Soul was one of the first shoe stores in Hoboken to sell fresh, modern and comfortable styles from some of Europe’s finest designers. From the well-known premium brand Michael Kohrs to the handmade impeccable designs of Anyi Liu, Platform Soul brings a stunning array of cult designer shoes. For those that want to stand out amongst the crowd of typical shoe styles, Platform Soul is guaranteed to make you look different and sexy. In terms of their most popular purchases, their commuter clients frequently buy flats or Anyi Liu pumps. Kors is very popular year round as well. Platform Soul gets new shipments in almost every week and are currently offering a 50% off sale for all their winter shoes.

While I give you a quick breakdown of the store’s variety of brands, enjoy the glimpse of Platform Soul’s new spring collection. They’ve got everything from sandals to flats to wedges to pumps, all great for spring. There’s some classic styles and some fun funky styles as well.

Michael Kors – Premium brand, known for great fit and incredible comfort

Delman – One of the oldest shoe brands, great reputation, revamped take on your classic shoe designs, comfortable, higher price point

Belle by Sigerson Morrison – High end company, more affordable line, good quality, fun and flirty designs

Anyi Liu – Higher price point, handmade in Italy, impeccable design (she was an engineer-turned-ball room dancer- turned- shoe designer), unbeatable comfort, highest quality leather

Pour La Victoire – Lines footbeds with Poron, a memory foam, offering incredible comfort in the highest of heels, fun and slightly funky designs.

Joy Chen – More affordable price point, flexible and comfortable sandals and pumps

French Sole – Awesome commuter brand, only makes flats, comfortable shoes season after season, more affordable price point

Modern Vintage – Uses memory foam in footbeds for incredible comfort, uses specific leathers to create a vintage feel to their shoes, both classic and fun designs

Korkease – Has been around since the 50’s, lower heel, great walking sandal, very comfortable, affordable price point

More than Just Shoes

Platform Soul has also just started to sell other accessories to compliment your shoes and outfits. They don’t have a huge selection but be sure to check out the store more often, as they hope to add a more robust line of accessories as the year progresses.

From sexy handbags to clutches and wallets, they’ve got a variety of different styles that will make your outfit even sexier.

When I was visiting the store, a few of their customers were coming in only to purchase their handbags. So although their selection is limited when it comes to accessories, they offer the styles that you will love.

To personalize your style even more, they also offer some fashionable jewelry as well.

Well-organized Product Displays and Stock Room

Don’t you hate it when you come into a shoe store and you have to search through piles of shoe sizes and styles? Platform Soul is very well-organized when it comes to displaying their products. Not only is their store layout sexy, but they know how to make their products look good too. They’re stock room is also neatly stacked, making it easy for their store employees to serve you efficiently when looking for your size.

Platform Soul provides friendly customer service everyday. When customers walk-in, they politely say hi and immediately cater to your needs. Whether you’re in need of fashion advice on the latest shoe styles in or specific shoes that will go well with your ensemble, these employees offer top notch service.
