Hoboken is a city filled with restaurants that claim to have the best burger. There’s a certain level of expectation created when you crown your burger the best. But which burger officially sits on the throne? Many have talked highly of Five Guys, a fast food chain that’s been known for the cause of burger and mouth love affairs across the country. If you’re vegan, please do not click through. As I’m about to take you on a trip to yummyville where burgers are made fresh, juicy and loaded! Anyone wanna ride shot gun while I tour this beef masterpiece?

Want fries with that?: Yes! The thick, long freshly cut potatoes are amazing and award-winning! Try them with the Cajun seasoning and you’ll go straight to food heaven. Cooked in 100% peanut oil.

We’re talking about two thick beef patties dressed to the nines – topped with mayo, onions, lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, sweet green peppers and smothered with gooey melted cheese goodness. The flavoursome of the beef patties remind my taste buds of the outdoor BBQ grill with subtle herb undertones cooked to tender and juicy perfection. It’s truly heaven between two fresh toasted buns. That’s not your stomach growling it’s your stomach screaming “feed me this cheeseburger now!”

Over-packed burgers make messy eating. A bit of spillage is fine, but explosive burgers are only going to end in tears. Surprisingly, with the amount of toppings, 2-inches of delicious beef patties and drippings of melted cheese, this high-stacked burger was constructed so well I don’t remember any spillage or even grabbing a napkin to wipe any mess. Perhaps the success of the burger’s strong foundation is owed to the genius architects behind the grill who build these bad boys day and night. So darn perfect!

Big buns are all very well, but they need to be counter-pointed by an adequate supply of meat. Each bite of burger should have plenty of both meat and bun. And when it comes to Five Guys, they give you enough beef to get your canines excited. Whether it’s the double patty regular burger or the one patty little burgers, it’s breakfast, lunch dinner and a few snacks rolled into one.

DON’T FORGET TO TRY THESE

While you’re waiting for your burger, Five Guys offers free complimentary in-the-shell peanuts – salted or unsalted.

There is only one side item, fresh-cut French fries served boardwalk-style and fried in pure peanut oil. The French fries come in two sizes and two varieties, regular “Five Guys style” or “Cajun” style. The fresh taste of these potatoes are amazing – some of the best fries I’ve ever had.
