To the Hoboken bar-hoppin’ veterans, Black Bear is well-known for the perfect spot to meet up with friends, watch some sports on 1 of the 42 television screens and enjoy a nice, big bucket of some of the most delicious wings in the mile square. And while they do have dart boards, what really makes this bar stand out as one of the best rec rooms is its weekly Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament. Every Thursday night at 8:00pm, Black Bear teams up with Budweiser to sign up 32 intoxicated men and women to battle each other off in the most elegant and profound conflict resolution games of our childhood days. Hoboken is pretty limited when it comes to shopping for those perfect shoes. Most of the Hoboken women I’ve talked to shop outside of the mile square, whether that’s crossing the river and raiding the large selection of stores on 5th ave and downtown SOHO or taking the light rail to the nearby Newport Mall in Jersey City. But when you’ve got no time to shop for those matching shoes that you need for that party outfit tonight, you have no choice but to run to a few of those local women’s shoe shops around town. Women need shoes. That’s a fact. Women cannot simply wear the same shoe every day. They need change and I, myself, as Hoboken Guy, understand that completely ladies. And whether you’re out on a hot date or simply strutting down Washington Street, you need shoes to support your everyday activities and lifestyle. Women need variety. Women need to spice up life. Women need to stay in fashion. Women need to look hot. C’mon fellas! You have to level with me here. Sure it’s tough when your girl buys a million pairs of high heels. But in the end, you gotta admit that there’s nothing better than walking around town with your arm around your lady when she’s looking oh so damn beautiful. And I truly believe that sexy shoes are the main ingredient to a woman’s sexy look.

Best Brunch: Busker’s Crab Cake Benedict

Sometimes, brunch will make me real “crabby”. And when I say “crabby”, I refer to a personal state in which my taste buds rely solely on crab cakes to function normally. So when a Hoboken resident told me about Buskers‘ brunch and their amazing Crab Cake Benedict, I literally sped walk downtown that Saturday afternoon and inhaled every crumb off my plate. Crab Cake in combination with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce was a dish that these taste buds have never experienced, but I’ll start off my review by telling you this – I was addicted after the first bite.
