Sometimes, brunch will make me real “crabby”. And when I say “crabby”, I refer to a personal state in which my taste buds rely solely on crab cakes to function normally. So when a Hoboken resident told me about Buskers‘ brunch and their amazing Crab Cake Benedict, I literally sped walk downtown that Saturday afternoon and inhaled every crumb off my plate. Crab Cake in combination with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce was a dish that these taste buds have never experienced, but I’ll start off my review by telling you this – I was addicted after the first bite.

Best Brunch: Court Street’s Biggest Egg, Cheese and Bacon Croissant Sandwich

I’m a big fan of the breakfast sandwich. It’s fast, simple and gives me the freedom to get messy with my bare hands. Usually, I’ll run over to a nearby Italian deli and munch on a tasty egg and cheese sandwich to help cure my traditional Sunday hangover. But after hearing rave reviews from a few Hobokenites about Court Street’s breakfast sandwich, I had to check it out for myself. And what really tickled my taste buds was the name of the sandwich itself: “The Biggest Egg, Cheese and Bacon Croissant Sandwich You’ve Ever Seen!”. And yes, believe it or not, that’s literally what it’s called on the menu.

After inhaling the amazing French Toast at Anthony David’s, I scavenged across the Mile Square in search for other French Toast cuisines that would not only satisfy this new brunch obsession, but to see if any restaurants offered the same level of deliciousness. I stopped by Amanda’s Restaurant, asseemed to be getting a lot of Twitter buzz for their brunch and it just so happened that I ran into Croissant French Toast while I was there. Excuse me while I take a moment of silence to remember the heavenly taste.

When I think about good ol’ Eggs Benny, I dream about a beautiful concoction of meat, eggs and Hollandaise sauce perfectly joined together in a holy matrimony of deliciousness. It’s a classic favorite that appears on almost every brunch menu and for any brunchaholic like me, it’s one of those dishes that’s difficult to pass up. Many Hobokenites have been giving rave reviews about Elysian Cafe’s version of this classic dish. Even their waitresses claimed that their restaurant had the best in Hoboken.

I’ve never been attracted to French Toast. When it comes to brunch, I’m an Omelette guy. C’mon! Who can resist an Omelette’s flirtatious medley of fresh ingredients? Omelettes are just too damn sexy! I’m sorry French Toast, but your personality makes me want to go back to bed. However, this past weekend, I’ve decided to give French Toast another chance.
